Kirkeporten is a remarkable natural rock formation located just outside the village of Skarsvåg – the world’s northernmost fishing village. The hike to the arch is easy to moderate and takes about 30–45 minutes each way.
From the opening in the rock, you’ll see a spectacular view of the North Cape Horn across the bay. The trail is well-marked in summer and can also be visited in winter, though proper footwear and care are essential due to snow and ice.
The area offers beautiful Arctic light conditions throughout the year – from the midnight sun in summer to the northern lights in winter – making Kirkeporten a favorite stop for both visitors and locals.
