About Bird Safari
BirdSafari AS offers guided boat trips to the Gjesværstappan nature reserve, one of Northern Europe’s largest seabird colonies. The tours run from May to September, when puffins, guillemots, kittiwakes and other seabirds nest on the cliffs, and sea eagles patrol the coastline.
The trip lasts around two hours and is suitable for most visitors. Warm suits are provided on board, and guides share knowledge about the birdlife, the marine ecosystem and the coastal landscape around Gjesvær. Throughout the season, the experience changes naturally with the breeding cycle, weather and light conditions.
Whether travelling independently or as part of a group, BirdSafari offers a clear and accessible way to experience the wildlife and sea cliffs west of the North Cape – a nature encounter shaped by the season itself.
