Gjesvær Handel AS was established in 1898 and is today the largest landowner in the fishing village of Gjesvær. The company continues proud trading traditions, preserves local culture, and actively contributes to the development of the local community.
The experiences offered are designed for small groups of up to 10 people seeking an authentic and personal visit to one of Norway’s oldest fishing villages. Guests are welcomed for an intimate guided introduction to Gjesvær’s history, culture, and traditions.
Visitors can take part in a guided visit to the privately owned Gjesvær Church, where stories about coastal life, faith, and local heritage are shared. The experience also includes a journey through the village’s past at the cultural heritage centre, presenting life in Gjesvær over the last 200 years and beyond, with insight into fisheries, trade, and everyday Arctic life.
